</span><strong><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Calibri Light","sans-serif"">About Answerland</span></strong><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Calibri Light","sans-serif";font-weight:normal"><br>
<a href="https://www.answerland.org/" target="_blank">Answerland</a> is Oregon’s statewide virtual reference service. Recently, the oversight of Answerland was transitioned from Multnomah County Library to the Oregon State Library. As part of the process, Answerland’s
former <a href="https://www.answerland.org/advisory-board" target="_blank">Advisory Board</a> is being reformed as the Answerland Advisory Council under the State Library.<br>
<br>
The State Library wishes the AAC to continue in the role of setting the mission, goals, and direction of Answerland program. The ultimate vision is to create, maintain and continually improve a high-quality online reference program that succeeds in serving
the needs of all residents of Oregon.<br>

The Answerland Advisory Council seeks representatives with experience in virtual reference and collaborative library services, as well as a desire to reinvigorate and grow the Answerland program.
<br>
<br>
Initial terms begin January 2016, and can run for one, two, or three years (terms will be staggered to ensure the continuity of future membership). Goals for the first year will include advising the Answerland coordinator and State Library regarding the implementation
and promotion of a new software platform.<br>

Submissions will be reviewed by the State Librarian and appointed staff. They will strive to keep a balance of representation from all types of libraries and geographic regions. Once confirmed, the slate of nominees will be presented by the State Library staff
to the State Library Board at their January 2016 meeting. Appointees will be notified by the State Library as soon as possible after the Board meeting.
