I've been told by our City Attorney and the local police chief that we can bar open carry of firearms on library premises, but cannot bar concealed carry. You may also want to consult on the "dangerous weapons" section; I've also been advised that there is very little we can do about other weapons (such as knives) unless the individual is using them in a threatening manner. I was told yesterday by a board member, via a city police officer, that banning firearms on public property is illegal.
