<p><span class="style101"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">When schools close in the summer, low-income families struggle even more to feed their children. The State Library has been working with Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon and the Oregon
 Department of Education’s Child Nutrition Program to expand access to food and summer learning to low-income families. Last year, 13 public libraries reported that they were a summer food site. In July, the Child Nutrition Program reported to the State Library
 that 29 libraries are summer food sites this year. Even more public libraries take the summer reading program to local summer food sites or coordinate the timing of the summer reading program with food sites within walking distance of the library. Youth must
