<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:blue">As you know by now, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is the newest federal education law, and the Oregon Department of Education is working on the draft of the Oregon ESSA implementation plan.
As a first step, ODE gathered community feedback about what Oregon’s priorities should be. They did that through a series of community forums around the state last spring. Now that the draft ESSA plan is almost ready, ODE announced the dates and locations
of the second round of community forums. Those who want to have a say about the draft plan, school libraries, and other education issues may want to attend one of these meetings. I believe that there will also be a chance to offer feedback electronically.
Once that information is available, I’ll announce it.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
