The Oregon Statewide Database Licensing Advisory Committee
met on November 9th. I'm emailing you today to share some of the
highlights from that meeting.

We are beginning to prepare for the next set of RFPs for
statewide databases. We looked at results from our survey and other
feedback to see what types of resources are in most demand. It is not
surprising that the needs are very different in different types of
libraries. We hope to find a variety of resources to address these
differing needs. Currently we are looking at general reference, career
resources, peer-reviewed journals, contemporary issues resources,
e-books, lifelong learning resources, and general periodicals. Each of
these resources has a small group assigned to elaborate on what we would
like to see in that category. We will meet again in the spring to
finalize the scope of the RFPs and to discuss evaluation criteria.
