<p class="style10"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Oregon State Library Board will meet at the State Library in Salem on Thursday, January 19th for its annual retreat, and Friday, January 20th for its regular board meeting. On the 19th, the
board will review the current strategic plan and update it for 2017-2019. The agenda on the 20th will include the post-transaction review of the agency head financial transactions and review of the LSTA 2012-2017 Five Year Plan Evaluation. The open forum is
scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 20th. Anyone may address the board on any topic at the open forum.

<p><span class="style101"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The 2017 Ready to Read grants have been distributed to public libraries this month. Public libraries received a total of $707,963 in state funds, an average of 94₵ per child 0-14 years old.
The grant applications indicate that 54 libraries plan to spend some state funds on early literacy training, 95 libraries plan to spend some state funds on outreach to local underserved families, and 110 libraries plan to spend some state funds on the summer
reading program. These three activities have been identified as public library youth services best practices. Please read the
