(JCLC) held its reception at the Omni Hotel. JCLC, Inc. Board President Ken Yamashita announced the location for JCLC 2018 - The 3rd National Joint Conference of Librarians of Color will be at Albuquerque, New Mexico on September 26-30, 2018. The announcement was met with excitement and much enthusiasm. Paulita Aguilar,</div><div>Outreach Librarian at the University of New Mexico spoke about Albuquerque and its rich culture. Julie Todaro, ALA President and Carla Hayden, Librarian of Congress stopped by and spoke positively about JCLC. Other long time supporters of JCLC in attendance included Jim Neal, ALA VP/President-Elect; ALA Past Presidents including Camila Alire, Nancy Kranich, Ann K. Symons; Robert Newlen, Deputy Librarian of Congress and Robert Wedgworth, Past ALA Executive Director. JCLC appreciated ALA’s support of the</div><div>reception.</div><div><br></div><div>About the Joint Conference of Librarians of Color and JCLC Inc. </div><div>First held in 2006 in Dallas and then again in 2012 in Kansas City, Missouri, the Joint Conference of Librarians of Color brings together a diverse group of librarians, library staff, library supporters, and community participants to explore issues of diversity in libraries and how they affect the ethnic communities who use library services. It will be held next in 2018. Coming together through the Joint Council of Librarians of Color, Inc., sponsor of the next JCLC conference, are the American Indian Library Association ( AILA ), the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association ( APALA ), the Black Caucus of the American Library Association ( BCALA ), the Chinese American Librarians Association ( CALA ), and REFORMA : The National Association to Promote Library & Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish-speaking.
