<span style="">FREE WORKSHOP ON GEOSCIENCE LIBRARIANSHIP SET FOR OCTOBER 21</span></div>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal"><span style="">“Geoscience Librarianship 101” – a full-day introduction to earth science information resources and their organization – will be presented by the Geoscience Information Society (GSIS) on Saturday,
October 21 in Seattle, Washington.<span style=""> </span>Registration is free and open to all information professionals as well as students in library and information studies.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal"><span style="">The workshop is aimed at librarians new to the geosciences and those already in the field who want a refresher.<span style="">
</span>It will provide an overview of geoscience information and current topics in reference, research, and publications; collection development; and geospatial information. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Additional topics may include solo librarianship and STEM research/library services in the oil and gas industry. Participants are encouraged to bring their own questions and issues
for discussion.</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> </span><br>
