organizations to provide a certificate of insurance to use a district
facility. We do recommend it for certain things. For instance, if a
park and recreation district is going to rent out
their gym for an event they should ask the renter to provide proof of
insurance, but we don't require it. I don't believe it would make
sense to require proof of insurance for the types of use you've
described.

I think that with state standards, you might want to share with your insurance company that the business of libraries is to provide public meeting room space.<br>

I asked last year and I am still trying to wrap my head around this. We are a Special District and our agent has told us that groups must present a certificate of insurance to use our meeting room. Regardless of type of group and if they are meeting during business hours. How are these groups different from people using study rooms or a group at a table? SDAO said that our business is providing materials and computers. Not public meeting areas.<br>

Please let me know if you require an insurance certificate.<br>
