The kids and teens shouldn't have to pay for situations not of their making</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div>Sno-Isle Libraries created a one-book card for minors for use when kids and teens cards are blocked. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">One book or one audio book and then they access to Overdrive and access to internet using library computers. Minors who can't get parental permission for a card, can get a one book card, too, just without Internet access. Contact our Teen Coordinator for details at the SIL Administrative Service Center.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Something else to think about, when a person is fleeing a domestic violence situation and is forced to leave library property behind, our circ management folks treat the loss like a theft and take the items off the kids' and parent's cards. <p>Hello all. We recently had a teenager come into our library to renew her library card. Her card had been expired for several years and had fairly substantial bills for unreturned items. The young woman had no idea where the books were
and was unable to pay for them. She explained that she was now living in foster care.

<p>I approached my advisory board about some type of revision as applied to minors. They have asked me to find out how other libraries handle situations like this. If any of you have policies pertaining specifically to minor patrons with
