The Jan 15 issue of the NY Times has an article, "There's Nazi Loot On the Shelves, Too" (also published as "The Hunt for the Nazi Loot Still Sitting on the Shelves) about efforts to identify and return books now in libraries in Germany and Russia to their
rightful owners. It is quite a task, as the provenance librarian at Berlin's "Central and Regional Library" estimates that 1/3 of their collection of 3.5 million books were looted by the Nazis.</div>
