Forgive me to repeating below a part of what I just sent out to OLA members, but I wanted everyone to know.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">The path to find a new person to lead the State Library of Oregon has been a long one. Throughout the search process, the Governor's Office involved key stakeholders, including State Library staff, the State Library Board, the Oregon Library Association, and others interested in the future of the State Library. I think that our patience has paid off with an excellent candidate.<div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Thank you to all of you for letting us know your thoughts through this long time; your voices allowed OLA to clearly communicate, together with other stakeholders, a vision for the State Library and who could lead it. I want to extend particular thanks to the State Library staff, though. This time of uncertainty was not easy on any of you, and you soldiered through it with aplomb and made your dreams for the State Library clear. Special thanks to Interim State Librarian Caren Agata. <p class="MsoNormal">We’re proud to announce that Jennifer Patterson will take over as the next Oregon State Librarian pending Senate confirmation. Jennifer has managed in public and academic libraries since 2004 and comes to us with over 20 years of library
experience. Prior to her current role as the Associate Dean of Learning Resources at Edmonds Community College, she was the Head of Access Services at the University of Washington Bothell, Customer Experience Manager at the Pierce County Library System in
Tacoma, Washington, and Public Services Director at The Seattle Public Library. Jennifer recently obtained a second master’s degree in Public Administration in December of 2018 from the University of Colorado Denver.<u></u><u></u></p>

high and high school in Oregon. She currently lives in Washington and has for the last 15 years with her spouse and her soon to be graduating high school senior! Jennifer mentioned she is absolutely thrilled and honored to accept the position. She looks forward
to working with State Library staff, the Governor's Office, the Oregon Legislature, State Agencies, the State Library Board, the Oregon Library Association, and libraries and communities throughout the state.<u></u><u></u></p>
