<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#1F4E79">Dr. Robert Bittner presents a workshop focusing on library services and materials for LGBTQIA+ youth, children, and families. The session examines shifting
terminology around gender and sexuality, reviews the evolution of LGBTQIA+ materials for children and teens (and their families) from the early days (1960's) to current publications, and explores areas of positive practices to ensure LGBTQIA+ young people
and their families feel welcomed and included. Additionally, Dr. Bittner explores common practices that have been debated over the last few decades, such as labeling of books with queer representation or creating LGBTQIA+ sections within YA collections, exploring
the positive and negative repercussions.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
