<p class="MsoNormal">I wanted to alert the Oregon library community that in response to COVID-19 social distancing measures, the State Library building will be closed to the public beginning tomorrow, March 19 through April 14. The State Library as an agency
will continue operations, only our physical location is closed to the public. We will be able to continue to provide most of our services without interruption. The vast majority of our services are delivered by means other than in-person. By closing the building
to the public, however, we can reduce the overall number of people in the building and practice better social distancing measures while continuing to provide vital services.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Some staff are teleworking and some staff are working in the State Library building. You can continue to
<a href="https://www.oregon.gov/library/operations/Pages/Contact-Us.aspx">contact us</a> using our regular contact information, with email being the best way to reach us.

<p class="MsoNormal">Libraries are often places people turn to in times of crisis, and it’s painful to have to make the decision to close a library building to the public. I know that many libraries have made this difficult decision and that many more will
do so given the current guidance and direction from health authorities on social distancing measures. The efforts you are making to slow the spread of COVID-19 and continue to offer library resources as you are able through electronic means are critical. Thank
