</font><font face="Helvetica" size="+1" color="black">The Intellectual Freedom Committee is a 9-member standing OLA committee with the charge of supporting the library community's commitment to the freedom to read, open access to information, and other intellectual
freedom issues throughout the state. Ongoing projects of the committee include:</font><font face="Times New Roman" size="+1" color="black"><br>
</font><font face="Helvetica" size="+1" color="black"> • supporting Banned Books Week;</font><font face="Times New Roman" size="+1" color="black"><br>
</font><font face="Helvetica" size="+1" color="black"> • sponsoring sessions at the OLA conference on IF issues;</font><font face="Times New Roman" size="+1" color="black"><br>
</font><font face="Helvetica" size="+1" color="black"> • supporting libraries that receive intellectual freedom challenges including to materials and other IF issues;</font><font face="Times New Roman" size="+1" color="black"><br>
</font><font face="Helvetica" size="+1" color="black"> • providing information on IF issues through listserv communication, social media, web tool kits, and other resources;</font><font face="Times New Roman" size="+1" color="black"><br>
</font><font face="Helvetica" size="+1" color="black"> • providing a searchable database of news reports related to intellectual freedom issues in Oregon;</font><font face="Times New Roman" size="+1" color="black"><br>
</font><font face="Helvetica" size="+1" color="black"> • honoring Intellectual Freedom Champions;</font><font face="Times New Roman" size="+1" color="black"><br>
</font><font face="Helvetica" size="+1" color="black"> • working with the Legislative Committee and the OLA Board on topical issues that arise, such as net neutrality.</font><font face="Times New Roman" size="+1" color="black"><br>

</font><font face="Helvetica" size="+1" color="black">Members are asked to serve at least two years. The IFC meets approximately six times a year, plus a short meeting at the OLA annual conference. Committee members participate remotely, either via Zoom or
