<p class="MsoNormal">In order to avoid the worst possible outcomes of the climate crisis, it may not be possible to focus on the triple bottom line of society, environment, and economic growth all at the same time. This system extends the delusion that we can
continue the way we currently are in society in a relentless race towards progress and limitless growth without ill effect on people and the planet. Libraries are well situated as bastions of degrowth, based upon a circular economy and social equity. This
session will explore modes of degrowth assessment accessible to all libraries and library workers, including Indigenous methodologies, true cost assessment, and Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS). Participants will leave the session
with resources to begin measuring and communicating the impact of their work related to environmental sustainability.

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Speaker:</b> Nicole Doro (she/her) is an uninvited settler living and working on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe nations. She is a Teaching and Learning Librarian at McMaster University, where she co-chairs
the McMaster Libraries’ Sustainability Committee. Her research interests include climate action in academic libraries and open access.
