am writing to update you on SB 1098, the School Library bill
that is now in the House Education Committee. This is critically
important piece of legislation that the Oregon Library
Association (OLA) has been working hard to get passed during
this session. SB 1098 protects students’ right to read, learn,
and share ideas free from discriminatory censorship by
prohibiting discriminatory book bans in Oregon’s public
schools. </p>

1098 made it to the Senate Floor, was approved, and is now
working its way through the House Committee on Education.<br>
