 year in response to budget woes. It seems the administrators in those situations didn’t know that would result in the district being out of compliance with the OAR about school libraries. Given that, I am sharing some basics about school libraries and Division
 22 compliance.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#215F9A;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#215F9A;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%">The Oregon Department of Education (ODE)
 oversees the <u><a href="https://secure.sos.state.or.us/oard/viewSingleRule.action?ruleVrsnRsn=145320"><span style="color:#215F9A;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#215F9A;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%">Media Programs Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR)</span></a></u>
 of Division 22, and they take a “floor” not a “ceiling” approach to enforcing OARs.
