<div dir="ltr"><div>We use them for some orders following the demise of B&T. We used Amazon more at the end of 2025 when Ingram took 4 weeks to ship orders. The discounts on new books from major publishers are generally 45% with free shipping, however, their invoicing requires more staff time than any other vendor because of their shipping and reconciliation method. If you send them a large order, it arrives in about a dozen small boxes each invoiced separately, requiring more staff time to reconcile orders. Invoices must be downloaded from the Amazon website. Their invoices are net 30 days. IDK if they charge extra for late payments. We paid by check for a while. You can bank transfer to them, but Amazon is the last place I want accessing the library checking account. We were 4 weeks late on one invoice (thanks to USPS) but were not charged a late fee. As a business customer, you can charge your orders to a credit card instead of using a 30-day account. However, we discovered that the card is debited for the entire purchase at the time of ordering regardless of the ship date, which affected our credit limit. </div><div><br></div><div>Amazon's customer service isn't great, but neither is Ingram's. Returns are easier with Amazon than Ingram and they don't balk at taking back books for any reason. There's always Brodart, but they are not accepting new customers until at least this fall.</div><div><br></div><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr">Jeff Weiss<div>Director, Scappoose Public Library</div><div>52469 SE Second Street</div><div>PO Box 400</div><div>Scappoose, Oregon 97056</div><div>503-543-7123</div><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><br></div><br><div class="gmail_quote gmail_quote_container"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Thu, May 7, 2026 at 12:02 PM dan cawley via Libs-Or <<a href="mailto:libs-or@omls.oregon.gov">libs-or@omls.oregon.gov</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div><div style="font-family:"Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:16px"><div dir="ltr">Hello:</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Yesterday, we were cold called by Amazon for their new "LibraryHub" program.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr"><span>With B&T gone and Ingram's services taking a nosedive, Bezos clearly sees a gap that needs filling.</span><br></div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Is anyone using this service?
