[Libtech_or] August Updates from the LibTech Roundtable

Hello LibTech Roundtable Members,

We are looking for a few LibTech members to aid in developing a Library "Local Experts" listing for Oregon. Do you work in a library and have tech skills you'd be willing to share with the community at large? Or perhaps, you're looking for someone to talk to about setting up network switches, or transitioning from AACR2 to RDA? Please look at the initial draft on the LibTech Wiki at: http://bit.ly/Vqxl8L and lend your edits and advice for additional material to the listserv or any of the current LibTech RT officers at http://libtechrt.wikispaces.com/home

We would like to get this process going, so if you could have your edits, comments and observations in by September 1st that would be great. Let us know if you would like to be actively involved in the process moving forward as well. We'd love to have you aboard!


We are also in the process of putting together an informal happy hour of tech minded library workers in Portland and possibly Salem, OR as well. If you'd like to help organize either of these events or just come out and chat with us, we'd love to hear from you! Possible locations for Portland have started with Lucky Lab (South East or North West) and we're looking at other options as well.
