The Grants to States program traditionally holds a 2-day annual conference,
which was virtual in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19. In the past several
months IMLS has been carefully considering what next year’s
conference could look like, and we are interested in your input to help us
plan.

*Dates/location*
Given that ALA Annual is slated for the Washington, DC area next year
(Thursday, June 23 to Tuesday, June 28), we are interested in holding
our IMLS conference on the front or back end of those dates in the
Baltimore or Northern Virginia area. This is around the time that
Five-Year Plans will be due (June 30), so we may schedule an earlier
webinar on related topics in the spring.

*In-person/hybrid*

In addition to your date preferences, we are interested in travel
flexibilities you might anticipate needing, understanding that much could
change by June of 2022. Traditionally, IMLS pays for the LSTA Coordinator
or a substitute from each state to attend this conference. Limited numbers
of additional state-sponsored travelers have been welcome on a first-come,
first-serve basis. It’s important to us to have representation from every
state, so if you anticipate not being able to physically travel or having a
strong personal preference to attend virtually, those details will help us
plan for a hybrid event. For those who opt to attend virtually, IMLS would
not be able to offer a credit in lieu of the sponsored travel.

*Please have your state’s most likely traveler(s) (usually the LSTA
Coordinator) respond to the date and attendance preferences outlined in the
survey link below.* * We ask for your response by Friday, November 5. *

Once we hear from you, we will follow up with additional information.

Many thanks!

Laura
