I’m not seeing any changes, like the equipment threshold, removal of agency approvals, etc. Some of the things that they talked about, like allowing agencies to do business in a language besides English (200.111) aren’t changed either.

It looks like we are still waiting. My excitement got ahead of me.

Thanks so much for the notes!

I think it went into effect this week:

Well yall. This wasn’t quite what I was expecting. Very rosy and high level, press-like event? Not much to really work off of, nor did I hear when the Uniform Guidance was going into effect…did I miss that? But sounds promising.

Here are my notes. Please note that everything that was discussed was broadly discussed and did not include a citation to the guidance. This is only what I heard. If I have anything wrong, someone please correct me!

Goal of the overhaul-remove burden for recipients. Lowers burdens, strengthens accountability

  *   Raising default IDC
  *   Operate procurement
  * Threshold triggers for community colleges
  * Local government can gather data and assess
  *   Rewritten in “plain English”
Fixes language to make it clear, for everyone to have the same understanding

Simplification of NOFOs; streamlined template for federal agencies, and federal agencies must submit a plan to OMB on how to simplify applications. Went into depth about a HHS pilot for NOFOs-didn’t take notes since it isn’t applicable to passthroughs. Theme is to simplify and you’ll get new applicants

Data and Evaluation-explicitly allows state, local, tribal governments to allocate funds for evaluation.

Will be hosting educational webinars

Local governments provides the ability for cities to use funds to use local industry in their communities.

Glitchy when the Montgomery County, MD finance officer was speaking-missed her talking point

Yes, I have been unable to join as well. Perhaps they will post a recording.

Hello,

If anyone got into the Uniform Guidance Launch (starting in 5 minutes) please take notes and let us know what they’ve announced.

I signed in ½ hour early, was admitted, and then deleted after a couple of minutes. When I tried to rejoin it said the meeting was at capacity.

I’ll look for other sources for updates, but if you can be my source – sing!

Thanks!

Best,

Maura
