Thanks for the update Debbie. Am I reading correctly that the State Library was NOT abolished?
The voting part has me confused.
Thanks,
Jeff

SB536 failed in the House Committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs. This bill would have abolished the State Library and the State Library Board, putting everything under the Dept. of Education and our documents under Archives. It was a voice vote, chairman called that it passed, a member called for a roll call vote, and it was NO 8-7.
Last night a senate Bill was introduced that will terminate all board members and the governor will appoint all new members. It passed the Senate Committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs this morning.
All this because libraries are not protecting children from certain books.
It never ends
