In Oregon we have the Oregon Digital Library Consortium that contracts with OverDrive. It is not managed by the State Library. Instead, they apply every year for an LSTA grant from us. The grant only makes up about 10% of their overall budget.

Michigan did the same with ARPA funds and did it the same way. Otherwise we don’t purchase content outside of databases.

Hello Tara,
The libraries pay for their own content on OverDrive. During the pandemic, we did use ARPA funding to pay for econtent on their behalf where libraries chose content and then the bill was sent to us. That was a special circumstance. The only econtent we pay for at the state level is for our eRead Kids program through Baker and Taylor and the Palace Project. I hope this helps!

Hello, all,
I know this question has been discussed, but I need a refresher. How are you all using LSTA funds to purchase e-content through OverDrive in your state? Or to support the purchase of e-content?
