<p class="MsoNormal">Michigan issues a revised grant award notice only for extending the grant period or adding money per the Department of Education Grants office rules (the Library of Michigan is under the MI Department of Education). Otherwise, it is between
the grant coordinator and the grantee. For small modifications that don’t change the basic activities/purchases, I allow an email that I reply to. I keep a copy for my records and tell them to do so as well. For major changes in activities/purchases, I require
them to submit a revised application proposal and budget, which I then approve in writing. If that revision requires an extension or more $, then a new grant award notice is created and approved by the Superintendent of Education’s office. Needless to say
we don’t do that last step often.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Attached is our amendment form. It is traditionally used to amend grant awards for an increase in funds. If other changes to the grant agreement are needed it can also be used. For instance, we had a library ask for an amendment regarding
removing the words “required match” from the language in our standard agreement template for one of our ARPA programs. We indicated that the required match was 0%, but they still wanted it removed. Of course the agreement was fully signed and executed so
we issued an amendment to change that line in the agreement.<o:p></o:p></p>
