<p class="MsoNormal">California here. We haven’t had any requests for service animals specifically, but we have funded a project involving animals.

<p class="MsoNormal">This was a sustainable libraires project that funded a service delivered by goats. A subrecipient library offered an environmental speaker and sustainability workshop series and contracted the goats to offer a wildfire fuel abatement presentation
demonstrating the wildfire prevention method of goats being brought out to the land to reduce the fuel (tall dry grasses, etc.) that pose wildfire risk.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">When we received the project proposal, we ran it by IMLS and it was deemed allowable as the goats were not being experimented on or harmed, and the use for them was reasonable and necessary, as well as an important part of the program.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">In this case the goats were a service. This is quite different than the service dog scenario but wanted to share in case any element is helpful.<o:p></o:p></p>
