Bridging Knowledge in Child Sexual Abuse Prevention:

Promising Practices in Indigenous Communities

Wednesday, February 18, 2015
11 am Pacific Time, 2pm Eastern Time

Comprehensive prevention practices must include culturally competent components. Preventionists do not need to be experts on these beliefs, but must have a foundational understanding of the intersections of child sexual abuse, cultural norms, and societal pressures, to create community centered programing. In this web conference, we will highlight Indigenous communities and the work community members are doing to end child sexual abuse.

This web conference is a part of PreventConnect and Ms. Foundation for Women's third year of the #PowerInPrevention: Ending Child Sexual Abuse Web Conference Series<http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001PK_GDHOJIOinwkx1wtLdO7-WE2dH1--usQ5kOy-pYPXXggc5sXqUN9f4TwB-nHQQ80-59fF-i774Sqs0Vn-12Y5_LksRVdKhMQBRkig5yOruBdCieUjc_JXbpSQG9bhgnLX9wMp4gRQrW15PLQz4cP4es5gyI97ZBoYQXzExWgZViHzfpL-Wxrck3Kk-CAsYp9fzyN2IlLEMFzxXm6xY61XGvWixOUXfq12B8Q0XYq98k_Am6_kK-uf6T5vai17Ga3YFUoenP9UF28OF0U_XaWA0eNYJpNhyh_2mB4Bu0iI=&c=97yvnaTvoH2E9ILEwi3n5vNpD5cJrqg-frLUgE__2eb_xZmk2SwrIw==&ch=7DwLOhf71EYN4tnedKsnoOY7Y3Z9CEweN7B4Ed0Y29qZcJx2LMmbrg==>.

Our goal with this new site is to provide visitors with an easier way to learn what Kids' FIRST Center does, why we do what we do, and how to get involved. Career, volunteer, and fundraising opportunities will also be posted as they become available. This site is designed to be a good resource for families that may be coming in to our center, providing a brief overview of the work that is done at Kids' FIRST.

There are several features to this website I would like to highlight for you, the one we're most excited about is the DONATE button! We are linked with PayPal so visitors to the site can schedule a one-time donation or schedule monthly donations to Kids' FIRST. Remember, Kids' FIRST Center is a 501(c)3 organization so donations to our center are tax deductible. :)

There is also a feature that will allow visitors to sign up on a listserv to receive literature, training notices and news from Kids' FIRST Center. The site is available in English and Spanish. Please take a few minutes to check it out and pass it along to friends, family and co-workers.
