Federal Budget Proposal

Some of you may have heard recently about a new federal budget proposal that includes "rescinding and cancelling" 1.5 Billion dollars from the federal Crime Victims' Fund. Yesterday an official press release from the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators<http://www.navaa.org/> was circulated in response to the potential budget changes.

Training Opportunities

On November 2, 2015 Washington County District Attorney's Office<http://www.co.washington.or.us/DistrictAttorney/> is presenting a free day-long training focused on child abuse investigations.  The primary audience is child abuse MDT members in Washington County, but registration is now open to any MDT member in Oregon, space permitting. Please see the attachments for schedule and location information.

This position is responsible for developing a medical diagnosis of [possible] child abuse by participating with a medical examiner in an evaluation process that includes a physical examination and videotaped interview. Interviewer also assists in developing an appropriate follow-up treatment plan for the child and family as well as providing training and presentations on child abuse.  Bilingual Spanish/English applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
