MDT Day 2016, Registration Closing Soon!
Attached please find the MDT Day 2016 registration and speaker information.  MDT Day is Monday, April 18th at the Red Lion Janzen Beach from 1 pm to 5:30 pm. We are really excited about this year's speakers, and we hope you will be too! The speakers' bios are attached, but many of you will already be familiar with this year's speakers: Meg Garvin, MA, JD, Executive Director of the National Crime Victims' Law Institute; Kim Jacobowitz, LCSW, VOCA funded trauma informed counselor at CARES Northwest; and Cory Jewell Jensen, MS, CBI Consulting, sex offender evaluator and treatment provider.

We hope that the half day schedule will allow those who are restricted from traveling on Sunday to be able to attend this year. Sunday night lodging reimbursement is, however, still available for those who choose to travel on Sunday (as in past years, the CAMI program will reimburse one night's lodging (at the conference rate)-Sunday or Monday, for those traveling more than 75 miles one way). Hotel, mileage and other details are included in the attached registration form.

Registration deadline is April 4th  at 4:00pm. (Hotel reservations had to be made by March 28th to ensure the conference rate).  If you have questions, please call Alisha Goodwin at 503-328-6270.

This three-and-a-half-day multi-disciplinary conference is for professionals working in the area of law, law enforcement, medical, nursing, parole and probation, prevention/education, protective services and treatment of child abuse, neglect and domestic violence.

The Summit is hosted by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Child Abuse Team and the Domestic Violence Enhanced Response Team (DVERT). The Summit's goal is to educate professionals on the complex issues associated with child abuse and family violence, to broaden each professional's knowledge base in multiple areas, and to increase understanding of the other agencies' roles and responsibilities with the latest research and promising practices.

Our theme, The Power of One in Collaboration with Others, continues throughout the Summit as we learn new ways to work together to protect and make each child safe in our communities.

Registration is limited. Early registration is strongly encouraged. Fee includes all workshops, continental breakfast each day, refreshment breaks, and USB.

Registration Fees:
$395 for a group of 5 or more from the same agency (postmarked/registered online by April 1, 2016)
$415 or early individual registration (postmarked/registered online by April 1, 2016)
$465 for regular individual registration (postmarked/registered online -    between April 2-15, 2016)
$220 for individual one-day registration (postmarked/registered online by April 15, 2016)

Who: Children's Advocacy Center of Jackson County
What: Nurse Practitioner
Where: Medford, OR

The Children's Advocacy Center of Jackson County seeks a highly qualified Nurse Practitioner to perform medical evaluations of suspected child abuse victims. The provider shall conduct examinations in the clinic setting, and will also participate in child abuse prevention efforts and education.   Pediatric experience is required, and knowledge in the diagnoses and treatment of child maltreatment is preferred. Duties would include direct patient care in the Children's Advocacy Center clinic to include some after hours and on call coverage. The provider shall be supervised by the CAC Medical Director.  The provider would also be required to testify in the event of legal proceedings.  The Children's Advocacy Center is looking for a highly motivated professional to join our mission which is to provide a compassionate, multidisciplinary approach to the prevention, treatment, identification, investigation, and prosecution of child abuse. Provide mental health clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of sexually and physically abused children and support for their non-offending families.  Participate in Children's Advocacy Center training and collaboration with other agencies in responding to child abuse reports. :  Master's Degree in mental health related field and a professional license in social work or marriage and family therapy.  We prefer at least five years of experience in a mental health setting dealing with individual, family, and group therapy for a range of child abuse and neglect issues, including domestic violence and drug endangerment.  Applicants should have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of mental health diagnosis, treatment planning and effective treatment modalities and the ability to work cooperatively with families, law enforcement, other agency personnel, and community partners.
