NCVLI Survey

The National Crime Victim Law Institute (NCVLI) is seeking input from victim service providers and allied professionals for topics for the next advanced academy. Your participation in this survey will help NCVLI prioritize topics that are most meaningful and relevant to the field of victim services. The survey will be open until May 19th. Please feel free to forward this survey to others within your program and/or membership so that the survey results better reflect the training needs for our state. Registration Open for AMBER Alert in Indian Country: Child Protection Symposium

The Fox Valley Technical College AMBER Alert Training and Technical Assistance Program<https://n1.m.tt/a/erhuauamen-ewntrwee.html?mp_hash=BF13D69B021EC60660B5AAC80C5E05E093F7DBF0D79022AD5BE1E1DA5E95D30E> will host the AMBER Alert in Indian Country: Child Protection Symposium<https://n1.m.tt/a/erhuauameh-ewntrwee.html?mp_hash=BF13D69B021EC60660B5AAC80C5E05E093F7DBF0D79022AD5BE1E1DA5E95D30E> on June 1-2, 2017, in Bismarck, ND. This event will address child protection issues in Indian Country, including child exploitation, human trafficking, and endangered and abducted children. Participants will learn how to identify AMBER Alert best practices for their community, gather resources to increase public safety, and work with tribal law enforcement to address missing and exploited children issues.

Victim Rights Law Center: Opening

Title: VRLC Staff Attorney (VOCA Grant Funded)
Status: Full-time; VRLC Oregon office
Description:
The Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) is a nonprofit law center that provides free, holistic legal services to adult and minor sexual assault survivors in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties, Oregon; to transgender survivors statewide; and to sexual assault victims throughout Massachusetts. The VRLC also provides national training, mentorship, tools, research, and resources for lawyers, advocates, and other professionals on the legal needs of rape and sexual assault victims. The full-time VOCA-funded staff attorney is a Portland, OR, based position.  The attorney will be responsible for providing legal assistance to adult and minor sexual assault survivors; helping to recruit, train, and mentor lawyers and law students; and collaborate effectively with grant and community partners.
