Award winning survivor/leader Bekah Charleston, MS, and nationally recognized trainer and Director of Being Trauma Informed, Dr. Chris Wilson, PsyD are offering a 6-hour training (3 two-hour webinars on consecutive Fridays starting June 12) on the neurobiology of trauma and domestic sex trafficking. Based on Ms. Charleston's 10-year experience of being trafficked, the workshop will integrate the science of trauma into the context of her life. We will discuss how attachment affects the brain's ability to react to threat, and how the experience of being trafficked often feels like making a choice, despite the fact that threat and coercion are consistently present. Sign up here<https://www.eventbrite.com/e/when-coercion-feels-like-choice-impact-of-sex-trafficking-on-the-brain-tickets-106779406078>. Early bird pricing ends Tuesday, June 2nd 9:00am

Excerpt from Anne Seymour's Monday Missives

In 1983, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed May 25 as National Missing Children's Day in memory of Etan Patz, a 6-year-old boy who disappeared from a New York City street corner. Each year, National Missing Children's Day encourages parents, guardians, caregivers, and others concerned with the well-being of children to make child safety a priority. On May 20, 2020, the Department of Justice announced<https://lnks.gd/l/eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJidWxsZXRpbl9saW5rX2lkIjoxMDYsInVyaSI6ImJwMjpjbGljayIsImJ1bGxldGluX2lkIjoiMjAyMDA1MjUuMjE5NjkzODEiLCJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL3d3dy5qdXN0aWNlLmdvdi9vcGEvcHIvanVzdGljZS1kZXBhcnRtZW50LW9ic2VydmVzLW5hdGlvbmFsLW1pc3NpbmctY2hpbGRyZW4tcy1kYXktMT91dG1fc291cmNlPWdvdmRlbGl2ZXJ5JnV0bV9tZWRpdW09ZW1haWwmdXRtX2NhbXBhaWduPW5tY2QyMDIwIn0.RGyC7Susu-cErENki4SSuAfFy5EImBQAwIXvpxORseo/br/79047120123-l> the winners of the National Missing Children's Day awards. The recipients were recognized for their extraordinary efforts to find missing children and bring child sexual predators and child pornographers to justice.
