The schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, October 6th (8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Thursday, October 7th (8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Wednesday, October 13th (8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Thursday, October 14th (8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Wednesday, October 20th (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
Thursday, October 21st (8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)

Please encourage your partners to apply if they are able to attend. We should note that the training is full of content that requires full attention and culminates in group practice and a post-test. Attendees must be fully present with their cameras on and must pass the post-test to get the certificate of completion.

The application for OCFIT is an online link - https://oregoncas.formstack.com/forms/ocfit_application

Identical to the paper application process, all applicants must ensure the following steps are completed to be considered for acceptance at October's OCFIT:
1. Fill out the online application in its entirety via the above link
2. After filling out, they will receive an email to review and sign their application. All applications must be signed by the applicant.
3. Their supervisor will receive an email (and a text if cell phone is provided) that prompts their signature. All applications must be signed by the applicant's supervisor.
4. The applicant can pay with credit card while applying or can indicate they will send a check (note our new address - 4300 NE Fremont St., Suite 220, Portland, OR 97213). They can also designate someone else that is responsible for payment (e.g. their supervisor/the payor in their branch). Their indicated payor will then receive a follow-up email. Payment should be received by the due date.

***This process is exactly the same as the paper process, just that applicants should make sure to notify supervisors and payors that they will receive emails rather than in-person paper applications.

***All parties will get a copy of the completed application to their inbox.

Applications are due by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

All questions about this process from applicants can go to registration at oregoncas.org<mailto:registration at oregoncas.org>.

Children are some of the most vulnerable members of society and they are frequently victims of, or witnesses to, violence and abuse. As a result, children are often required to encounter and navigate the justice system. This system can be intimidating, confusing, and re-traumatizing for adults, let alone for children.
The Office for Victims or Crime announces the release of Child Victims and Witnesses Support Materials<https://protect2.fireeye.com/v1/url?k=893cd454-d6a7ecaf-893bf0b1-ac1f6b0176a2-9e61c44f2f8b2eeb&q=1&e=9f0ebe2f-fe1f-416d-8ca1-4ca9e1c57834&u=https%3A%2F%2Flnks.gd%2Fl%2FeyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJidWxsZXRpbl9saW5rX2lkIjoxMDMsInVyaSI6ImJwMjpjbGljayIsImJ1bGxldGluX2lkIjoiMjAyMTA2MTcuNDIwNzIzNzEiLCJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL292Yy5vanAuZ292L2NoaWxkLXZpY3RpbXMtYW5kLXdpdG5lc3Nlcy1zdXBwb3J0P3V0bV9jYW1wYWlnbj1uZXdzJnV0bV9jb250ZW50PWNoaWxkX3ZpY3RpbV9zdXBwb3J0X21hdGVyaWFscyZ1dG1fbWVkaXVtPWVtYWlsJnV0bV9zb3VyY2U9bmV3c2Zyb21vdmMifQ.mLxSdL7EloKJBWZhZFA-InI0FFBmIXkm2BjAyOZ0GhQ%2Fs%2F1064511718%2Fbr%2F108093345158-l>, which is intended to support children and youth during their involvement with the justice system.
Based on the input of national experts, these materials teach children how the justice system works, what their rights are, the roles of the different practitioners they’ll meet, and how they can cope with the difficult feelings they might have. For children who have to testify, there are also tips to help them prepare for going to court.
These materials were specifically designed for children. In each of the illustrated narratives, child and youth characters explain how the justice system works in a child-friendly and developmentally appropriate way.
