A significant amount of misinformation is present regarding the population of children and adolescents who sexually act out. It is often a population that providers, even those trained in TF-CBT, feel hesitant or unprepared to work with. This training will focus on preparing providers who are already trained in the TF-CBT model to work both effectively and safely with this population. The training will use the TF-CBT PRACTICE acronym as a base to build off of when applying PSB (Problematic Sexual Behavior) intervention approaches for youths and their families.

In addition, there will be opportunities for therapists to interact and share ideas and resources with each other.

Let's Be Real: The Urgent Need for Change in Child Welfare, Courts, and DV Programs

Let’s Be Real was the public plenary of “All of Us, Every Family,” the Quality Improvement Center on Domestic Violence in Child Welfare's March 2021 conference. There, a group of thought leaders from child welfare, dependency courts and domestic violence services grappled with the roles of each system in perpetuating structural racism and the urgent need for accountability and action. This critical conversation is now available as a video resource.

New Video Resource from the QIC-DVCW
Child welfare systems, dependency courts, and domestic violence programs have contributed to the conditions that result in disproportionate representation of families and survivors of color within child welfare, as well as racial disparities in access to help and services. Black and Indigenous children are over-represented in child welfare nationally, while Latinx children are over-represented in the system in more than 20 states.

If your work touches the lives of children and families impacted by domestic violence, the Quality Improvement Center on Domestic Violence in Child Welfare (QIC-DVCW) invites you to view our new video resource, Let's Be Real. This critical conversation among state and national leaders challenges us to take action and accountability to advance racial equity in multiple systems – so that every family experiencing domestic violence and child maltreatment can get real help.
