Building Resilient Teams

Looking to build resilience on your multidisciplinary team (MDT) and for continuing education hours that can count towards the NCA accreditation standards?
PROJECT DETAILS

In this online discussion group, participants in two-person teams will meet for seven (7) sessions to review the core elements of resiliency, identify strategies to grow capacity in each element, and walk away with an action plan for implementing the strategies within their MDT.
·    There is no cost to participate in the project.
·    Participants will receive a certificate of completion.

February 2023 Live Virtual OCFIT via Zoom
Applications for February 2023 ONLINE OCFIT are NOW OPEN! This training will be held live virtually, Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25th, 2023.
The schedule is as follows:

  *   Wednesday, February 22 (1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
  *   Thursday, February 23 (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
  *   Friday,  February 24 (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
  *   Wednesday, March 1 (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
  *   Thursday, March 2 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)
We should note that the training is full of content that requires full attention and culminates in group practice and a post-test. Attendees must be fully present with their cameras on and must pass the post-test to get the certificate of completion.

 All applicants must ensure the following steps are completed to be considered for acceptance at February's OCFIT:

  1.  Fill out the online application in its entirety via the above link.  All applications must be signed by the applicant.
  2.  The applicant's supervisor will receive an email (and a text if cell phone is provided) that prompts their signature. All applications must be signed by the applicant's supervisor.
  3. Bridges Oregon to Offer New Program for DeafBlind Oregonians

Salem, Oregon – Starting January 2, 2023, Bridges Oregon will manage Oregon’s Communication Facilitator services, a new program that provides DeafBlind Oregonians, who communicate using American Sign Language through tactile or close vision methods, with access to make and receive video to video and Video Relay Service calls.

Communication Facilitator services, a program of the Oregon Public Utility Commission (PUC), also supports Oregonians who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing with a mobility disability in their arms or hands that affects their expressive communication. When a person on the video screen is unable to understand as a result, the Communication Facilitator uses their receptive skills to relay or convey the Deaf or Hard of Hearing person’s message.

“Communication is a basic human need. Access to communication using video platforms is essential for staying connected with others and for participation in society, government, education, and healthcare. Communication Facilitator services will address this lack of access that many in the community experience,” said Jon Cray, a program manager at the PUC, and Chad Ludwig, Executive Director of Bridges Oregon.

Oregon is the first state to pass a bill, House Bill 3205 during the 2019 Legislative Session, to expand the Telecommunications Devices Access Program to offer Communication Facilitator services to Oregonians who are DeafBlind or are Deaf or Hard of Hearing with an upper mobility disability.
