Bridges Oregon Launches New Healthcare Training Center
Salem, Oregon – Bridges Oregon has launched a new “Healthcare Training Center”, an online portal that provides training videos for healthcare providers and their support staff to learn about best practices, equity, and effective communication when caring for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing Oregonians.

The Healthcare Training Center also has an online community center that provides resources, information, and events for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing people residing in Oregon. This project was made possible with grant funding by the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF). The support from OCF provides opportunities for interactive learning for the healthcare community.

“The goal of the Healthcare Training Center is to address the accessibility and service disparities for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing people in Oregon,” said Chad A. Ludwig, Executive Director of Bridges Oregon. “Not only will this provide improvement in the delivery of healthcare services, but it will also empower our community to request and receive healthcare services that are fully accessible.”

Healthcare providers can access and purchase the training videos online and view them at their own pace. This allows complete flexibility and the ability to select the training that fits their individual healthcare needs.

For Oregon residents who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing, access to the Community Center via the Healthcare Training Center is free. The Community Center hosts resources, events, and an online portal in which consumers can connect with one another for support.

For more information on the Healthcare Training Center, visit the website: bridgeshealthtraining.org<https://BridgesOregon.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=7186a0e0e8dc502a6c436a983&id=bfbb4bbe13&e=a0f7881b5f>. Leading With Pride to Support LGBTQIA2S+ Youth and Families
________________________________

"During Pride Month, we honor a movement that has grown stronger, more vibrant, and more inclusive with every passing year. Pride is a celebration of generations of LGBTQI+ people, who have fought bravely to live openly and authentically. And it is a reminder that we still have generational work to do to ensure that everyone enjoys the full promise of equity, dignity, protection, and freedom."—President Joseph R. Biden Jr., A Proclamation on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month, 2023<https://lnks.gd/l/eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJidWxsZXRpbl9saW5rX2lkIjoxMDMsInVyaSI6ImJwMjpjbGljayIsInVybCI6Imh0dHBzOi8vd3d3LndoaXRlaG91c2UuZ292L2JyaWVmaW5nLXJvb20vcHJlc2lkZW50aWFsLWFjdGlvbnMvMjAyMy8wNS8zMS9hLXByb2NsYW1hdGlvbi1vbi1sZXNiaWFuLWdheS1iaXNleHVhbC10cmFuc2dlbmRlci1xdWVlci1hbmQtaW50ZXJzZXgtcHJpZGUtbW9udGgtMjAyMy8_dXRtX2NhbXBhaWduPXByaWRlMjMmdXRtX21lZGl1bT1lbWFpbCZ1dG1fc291cmNlPXByaWRlbW9udGhDQjA2MTMyMyIsImJ1bGxldGluX2lkIjoiMjAyMzA2MTMuNzgxNzA3NjEifQ.YDhPg_fLwn64JWGEX73gPK-eo_0t_NtaLRPMkvDqqNc/s/996670601/br/205383205569-l>

As you spend time recognizing the LGBTQIA2S+ community during Pride Month 🌈, dedicate yourself to finding ways to improve agency policies and trainings and making shifts to strengthen culturally responsive practices. June is Internet Safety Month

[cid:image031.png at 01D9AA92.CE177050]June is Internet Safety Month. OJJDP joins our partners in raising awareness about Internet safety and providing resources to keep kids safe online.

OJJDP continues to bring focus to the crime of sextortion. Sextortion is an online crime that exploits youth through coercion or blackmail to acquire sexual content, engage in sex, or obtain money.
