because of this struggle that researchers conducted a study and published the results in a recent article entitled “<a href="https://t.e2ma.net/click/topot/lqlgrj/tgv79f">Defining ‘reasonable medical certainty’ in court: What does it mean to medical experts
in child abuse cases?</a>”</span></span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Helvetica","sans-serif"">

professionals who treat and/or diagnose (alleged) child abuse, and who thus are called upon to testify in court.”

involving child abuse, they “expressed varying degrees of comfort with the term RMC, [and] only 37% reported feeling

differences… among the various specialties. As pediatricians, child abuse physicians are trained to care for children holistically and within the context of their families…. So it is perhaps not surprising that many more pediatricians (59%) reported needing
a >95% probability before RMC was reached/declared, compared to neurosurgeons (30%) and forensic pathologists (37%) whose orientation may be more focused on the injury at hand.”

“the law is clear that RMC and courts’ evidentiary standards are two entirely different and unrelated entities, and that
