Justice at LSU in Baton Rouge. After graduating, Hillar worked as an investigator for the East Baton Rouge District Attorney's office, where he collected evidence and surveyed crime scenes. Hillar received training from the FBI Academy in Quantico. While working
as an investigator, Hillar attended and graduated from Southern University Law School where he finished Magna Cum Laude in his class. Following law school, he worked in private law practice for over fifteen years. Hillar realized his goal of returning to the

laude from the University of St. Thomas Aquinas and received a master’s degree and juris doctorate from Louisiana State University. Ms. Fields serves on various committees of the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation, served as an officer on the board of the State Bar’s
Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education, and served as an officer and board president of the Iris Domestic Violence Center. She is a 2010 recipient of the Crystal Gavel Award and received a Tribute Award in 2014 from the Baton Rouge Association of Women
Attorneys. She was an adjunct professor of Legal Writing at Southern University’s Law Center, is currently an adjunct professor for LSU Law Center serving as the Prosecution Clinic Professor. As an assistant district attorney, she has over 19 years trial experience. She
currently serves as the Special Prosecutor of Domestic Violence, handling some of the most difficult and complex cases.</span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#172B4D"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

status families with at least one parent who is an unauthorized immigrant. Immigrant survivors of domestic violence and their children often face additional barriers to safety and wellbeing. Abusers can use the threat of detention, deportation or being separated
