Pharmaceutical wholesaler distribution centers have seen unprecedented order volume, which has increased pick times. Cardinal Health has specifically identified that with the order volume they have been experiencing, times have increased to as much as eight hours behind, creating delivery delay issues to customers.

To protect the supply chain, a high-level decision within Cardinal Health was made to place ALL products on fair share allocation, not just products that have been on the national shortage list.

Processes are in place to ensure new members receive product even though they may not have average monthly usage (AMU) established or in situations where a current member needs a product for which they had not previously had usage.  If members have product access issues due to allocations, they are to email or call their assigned regional leader, who in turn will work with Clay Miller and Wendy Sease to seek resolution.  For Critical Requests, our State Government Team at Cardinal Health will work towards a potential allocation override but be aware that not all requests will be provided with an override.

This is an unprecedented time, and these fair share allocations will not represent perfection, but our resources are dedicated to identifying Critical Need, as best as possible.
