[MyOEBB] OEBB Communications - ODS mailing formulary updates to affected members tomorrow

[MyOEBB system updates]

Dear Business Managers, Superintendents & Benefits Administrators:

 

Attached are two letters ODS plans to mail to affected OEBB members
tomorrow. 

 

ODS regularly reviews and updates their prescription formularies
according to the following schedule:

 

*         Formulary tiering changes on a semi-annual basis -- January
and July; and 

*         Utilization management (prior authorization, quantity limits,
gender restrictions, step therapy, age restrictions) updates on a
quarterly basis, January, April, July and October.

 

The attached letters provide approximately six weeks notice to those
members who will be affected by the January 2012 formulary updates.

 

ODS  provided the following information you may find helpful when
assisting affected employees who contact you: 

 

The bulk of the members affected by the change will be members who have
a claim for Crestor, which will be transitioning from tier 2 to tier 3.
Crestor has multiple alternatives that have been found to be
therapeutically effective for the majority of the population, while also
being much more cost effective. There are also two alternatives to
Crestor that are available under the Value Tier benefits.
