Dear Business Managers, Superintendents & Benefits Administrators:

We are getting a number of calls wanting to know more about the impact federal healthcare reform will have on entities and the OEBB benefits program. We’ve been working with Towers Watson to prepare a webinar for entities that want to learn more. We had hoped to offer the webinar in January, but wanted to ensure Towers Watson had the time to review and analyze the most current guidance released in late December 2012. Additional guidance has since been released and will be included in the webinar as well.
Following are two important messages relating to healthcare reform:

1)    Towers Watson and OEBB invite you to join one of two webinars presenting information on healthcare reform and how it specifically affects OEBB-participating entities:
Friday, February 22, at 10:00 a.m.
            or
Thursday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m.
Both presentations will contain the same information. You can choose the one that works best with your schedule and use the information in the attachment that is identified for that session.

NOTE:  The links are date-specific, so please use the one with the date you wish to attend.

There is no charge to you for this webinar and no need to pre-register. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the presenters as part of both presentations.

2)    We had previously mentioned that OEBB would be sending the communication relating to health exchanges, as required under the healthcare reform act, to all employees eligible for OEBB benefits in late February. This communication is no longer required to be sent to all employees by March 1, 2013. In compliance with the updated federal healthcare reform requirements, OEBB will be sending this letter on behalf of all OEBB-participating entities in late summer or early fall 2013. The webinars noted above will contain more detailed information on this requirement.
