[MyOEBB] OEBB -- Health Care Reform Update and Release of ACA Bulletin #1

Dear Superintendents, Business Managers and Benefit Administrators:

OEBB has asked our consulting firm, Towers Watson, to assist us in keeping educational entities participating in the OEBB benefits program informed of the requirements under the federal healthcare reform provisions. You may have joined one of the webinars presented by Towers Watson in February 2013, or you may have viewed a recorded version of one of the webinars available on the OEBB website. We recently posted the first of many planned monthly bulletins that we see as an ongoing commitment to these efforts.  Each monthly bulletin will focus on an area of the federal health care reform requirements and share any additional information or guidance released since the last bulletin.


The first bulletin focuses on provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) OEBB has already met on behalf of educational entities participating in the OEBB benefits program. It also provides information on the health insurance exchange notice and talks about the recent decision by the Obama administration to delay the Play or Pay mandate and certain reporting requirements. A link to this bulletin is listed below.



Also, as part of OEBB's efforts to help educate and inform our OEBB-participating entities and members, we are adding a new resource area to our website.  We hope this will make it easier for you and your employees to find and access information about the measurements, mandates, challenges and opportunities associated with these provisions.  Along with the most current bulletin, we will provide a folder that contains all past bulletins and a link to webinars prepared and/or presented by Towers Watson on this topic.  We plan to add a Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) section to this site in the future as well.  Please note that this Health Care Reform section of the OEBB website is still under construction and may not have all of the features available at this time.
