Dear Business Managers, Superintendents & Benefits Administrators:
Would you like OEBB to take over the benefit administration for your self-pay retirees? This service is now available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please read the Service Agreement available online at http://www.oregon.gov/oha/OEBB/entity/docs/SPER/SPER_Agreement.pdf for more details.
Some key points are:
* This is an optional service. You are not required to use it.
* This service is only available for retirees who pay 100% of their premium. If the retiree receives any financial contribution from your entity toward the premium, they are not eligible.
* You can choose to transition some or all of your qualifying self-pay retirees. If you would like to keep administering some and turn over others, you are welcome to do so.
* We anticipate many requests for this service and can only take on so many at once to ensure quality service. We will assess the agreements on a first-come, first-served basis and let you know when your service will begin. We may not be able to accommodate the effective date you request.
There is a toolkit available on the Entity Resources page of the OEBB website containing all the documents needed for this process, including sample letters to help you communicate the change to your affected retirees. Go to: http://www.oregon.gov/oha/OEBB/entity/Pages/eeResources.aspx
If you have any questions about this process or the service, please contact OEBB Member Services by phone at 888-469-6322 or email at oebb.benefits at state.or.us<mailto:oebb.benefits at state.or.us>.
We hope you enjoy this expanded service and can redirect resources currently used for this purpose to one of your other multiple priorities. We look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Denise L. Hall
