[MyOEBB] Moda Health Transitioning Specialty Rx Vendor

Dear Superintendents, Business Managers and Benefit Administrators:



In an effort to provide more personalized care and improved service to members in need of specialty medications, Moda Health will be changing the specialty medication vendor for their OEBB medical plan options at the beginning of the 2014-15 plan year (October 1, 2014). To make this change easier on affected OEBB members, the transition phase will begin this month and the new vendor will be dedicating staff to assist with the process.



Beginning this summer, specialty pharmacy needs for OEBB members, as well as all Oregon Prescription Drug Program (OPDP) members, will be serviced closer to home by Ardon Health Specialty Pharmacy (Ardon). Ardon is a state-of-the-art pharmacy and will provide members first-rate access to specialty medications, such as injectable and oncology therapies, as well as enhanced clinical support services.



In the next couple of weeks, Moda will be sending a letter to members who have filled prescriptions for specialty medications through the current specialty provider, Diplomat, announcing the change and providing more details on the transition. It will provide your employees with notification of the change, an overview of what to expect, and most importantly it will introduce them to Ardon as their new exclusive specialty pharmacy provider. Attached for your reference are samples of the letter and a "frequently asked questions" document. Moda Health will mail the letter directly to affected members, and Ardon will send the FAQ document directly to members as part of their "welcome package" once they have transitioned their prescriptions. You do not need to take any action -- these are just for your information in case members ask you about it.



Moda and Ardon will be working closely with affected members throughout the summer (July - September 2014) to assist them in setting up their accounts with Ardon. During this time, an Ardon patient care advocate will work directly with each member and their prescriber to facilitate the change and to ensure there is no disruption in therapy.



Also, to help avoid one of the issues often encountered during transitions like this, any new prescription request submitted during June, July, August and September will be coordinated between Diplomat and Ardon to ensure members do not experience any delay in care as a result of this change.
