Dear Business Managers, Superintendents, and Benefits Administrators:

During last Thursday’s Benefits Information Exchange (BIE) meeting, we mentioned two upcoming webinars, intended to educate OEBB-participating entities about the Standard’s Workplace Possibilities Program. Login information can be found in the invitation below. The original invitation was sent out a few weeks ago, but is pasted below for ease of reference.

The Standard’s Workplace Possibilities Program is a valuable and little-known benefit that is automatically included with disability coverage through The Standard. This program is available only to those entities who offer Short and/or Long Term Disability benefits plans offered through OEBB, but you are all encouraged to join one of the sessions to hear more about this very innovative and successful program. We hope you will be able to tune in.

If you currently offer Short and/or Long Term Disability through The Standard, or are considering as a future benefit-- are you aware of the covered benefits through the Workplace Possibilities Program?

The Standard’s Workplace Possibilities Program is changing the way employers manage absence and disability. This unique proactive approach helps keep employees at work and helps employees return to work after a medical leave by addressing and reducing the causes of absences and disabilities. Our Workplace Possibilities Team can:

· Perform ergonomic evaluations,

· Provide case management during a leave and referrals to your wellness vendors,

· Recommend devices that adapt to employees’ needs,

· Consult on accommodations for mental health conditions,

· Train supervisors to facilitate employees staying at work or returning to work, and

· Identify light duty for employees during recovery.

Services plus the cost of any equipment can be covered under the Reasonable Accommodation Expense Benefit in the STD/LTD polices.
