[MyOEBB] Communications 2016-17 Insurance Committee (Renewal) Information

Dear Superintendents, Business Managers, and Benefits Administrators:

If you tuned in to last Tuesday's OEBB Board meeting, you not only saw the unveiling of our new logo, but you also heard the Board emphasize their goal that OEBB deliver more user-friendly, on-demand communications. In support of this goal, we will be providing this year's renewal information in ways that are available "on-demand" and more readily accessible than in the past.

OEBB Board 2016-17 Renewal Decisions
The OEBB Board plans to make renewal decisions for the 2016-17 plan year during the public meeting to be held on April 26, 2016, or if more time is needed, during the next public meeting to be held May 3, 2016.

Rates and Plan Comparison Documents
When the Board has made their 2016-17 renewal decisions, OEBB staff will distribute the 2016-17 benefit summary plan comparisons and rate documents via email to all participating entities as soon as possible. Please allow five business days for this process, to ensure the accuracy of the documents. If you are receiving this message, you are also on the list to receive these 2016-17 plan documents as soon as they are available. We will also post the documents to the OEBB website, but by sending them via email we hope to provide our participating entities with the information as quickly and conveniently as possible.

Insurance Committee Information - Recordings, PDFs, and Webinars
For Insurance Committees who want to learn about the 2016-17 plan options, we will have three convenient new ways for you to access the information you need:


1)      Short carrier-specific videos will be available on the "Entity Resources" page of the OEBB website<http://www.oregon.gov/oha/OEBB/Pages/Entity-Resources.aspx>;

2)      Associated PDF handouts will be available to download; and

3)      OEBB will host live webinars from mid-May to early June with OEBB and carrier representatives available real-time to present their plan offerings and answer any questions you may have.

With these three new communication methods, decision-makers will have instant access to the information they need as soon as it is available and they can watch and re-watch the topics that interest them as often as they'd like, whenever they'd like. You no longer need to wait for a presentation to be held in your area, and you don't need to adjust your schedule around OEBB's availability. From the moment the information becomes available, everyone will have access immediately and "virtually" round-the-clock.

We will also post the Q&A from the various webinar sessions to the website, so if you aren't able to join as it happens, you can receive the same information at any later time that is convenient for you.

OEBB Staff Members Available to Assist You
Of course, you won't have to wait for a scheduled webinar to ask your questions. Once the recordings are on the website, we will send an email notification to all our entities. You can then watch the recordings at your convenience and contact OEBB by phone or email if you have questions. (See the end of this message for OEBB contact information.)
