<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D">The National Historical Publications and Records Commission invites applications for this grant program to promote the preservation and use of historical records
collections to broaden understanding of our democracy, history, and culture. The program emphasizes the creation of online tools that facilitate the public discovery of historical records.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D">The Commission looks to fund projects that undertake the following activities:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D">– Preservation, arrangement, and online description of historical records in all formats<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D">– Digital preservation of electronic records and unstable audio and moving image formats<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D">After completing arrangement and description activities, applicants may also digitize selected archival series from the processed materials to provide online
access to collections. Applicants that intend solely to digitize materials will be asked to submit proposals to the
<a href="https://www.archives.gov/nhprc/announcement/digital.html">Digital Dissemination of Archival Collections program</a>.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
