[Oac-link] November OAC Meeting & 12/11 Hands On Learning

Hi there,

Just a reminder that there is no OAC meeting tomorrow morning (Wednesday).

Also, I received so many responses from you all that I didn't even have to wait until Friday to know that I needed to split out the OAC Hands-On Learning Session into two different groups. Both sessions will cover the same material and will both be held on December 11th in Mt Hood Computer Lab in the basement of DAS East. Session 1 will be from 8:30am to 10:00am and Session 2 will be from 10:30am to 12:00pm.

Here are the people who have signed up so far. If you are interested in attending there is still space left, though as you can see below the earlier session is getting very close to capacity. Let me know if you'd like to reserve a spot! :)

Good Morning OAC's!

I have two things for the group today:

1.      There will be no OAC meeting this Wednesday. We were hoping to show you the new functionality introduced in the patch we've been testing, but the testing has taken longer than expected and it won't be installed in the Production environment this week after all. Once it does get installed we will send out an email to the group detailing the new features. (You guys will love them- they're introducing some really cool functionality!) One of the other things we hope to get with this patch is an increase to system performance, because as you may have noticed we experienced significant performance issues last Thursday. By holding off a week on the patch installation into the Production system, it gives the developer time to address this issue as well.

2.      I've had a lot of inquiries about the Hands-On Learning Session for New OAC's, which has me a little worried about space limitations so I would like to get an idea of how many of you plan on attending. (The computer lab only has 14 stations, so if it looks like we are going to run out of space I might have to divide the group into 2 different sessions that morning.)

Here is the list of those OAC's that have already indicated they will be coming (see below). If your name is not on the list but you would like to attend the Hands-On Learning Session, please email me by this Friday to reserve a seat in the class. After I get the responses I will let you know whether or not we need to divide into two groups.

For those of you interested in attending a hands-on learning session for new OAC's, please mark your calendars for Wednesday, December 11th from 9am to 11am. I have reserved the Mt Hood Computer Lab for us to go over how to add new users, update roles, manage your agency's hierarchy, etc. It will be very helpful for those of you who are new to the OAC position, (or who just want a refresher on how to perform the OAC tasks).

Please also note that due to the hands-on session and to be respectful of holiday vacations we will not hold our regularly scheduled OAC meeting on December 18th.
