The error message reported that "There was a problem. No message defined." This situation did not affect all students and reports of new occurrences have subsided. ODE and AIR are aware of the situation, and AIR is actively investigating the cause. We will provide updates as soon as more information is available. If your students encounter difficulties logging into the system, please contact your regional ESD support partner with details. American Institutes for Research (AIR) has identified the cause of yesterday's disruption: Yesterday, AIR staff inadvertently conducted a large scale quality control of the OAKS Online system during operational testing to ensure the upcoming OAKS Online enhancements are ready for student use. This placed unexpected strain on the system which resulted in the system "timing out" and preventing some students from accessing their tests. AIR has assured ODE that they will no longer conduct such reviews during test-taking hours to ensure that this type of disruption does not occur in the future. AIR apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this disruption in testing.
