Continuing Education Reminder

Effective, 7/26/2021, the Continuing Chiropractic Education rule, OAR 811-015-0025<https://secure.sos.state.or.us/oard/viewSingleRule.action?ruleVrsnRsn=280017>, was updated.
            ** Please note, a correction will be made to the rule under Senior Active Status to reflect 4 hours of general CE instead of 3 hours.

Doctor of Chiropractic (first year) - 8 hours

  *   Over the counter, non-prescriptive substances - 4 hours
  *   Evidence-based medicine - 2 hours
  *   Cultural Competency - 1 hour
  *   Suicide Intervention Training - 1 hour

Doctor of Chiropractic (second year, active status) - 20 hours

  *   Pain Management Education - 7 hours *please see specifics within CE rule
  *   Cultural Competency - 2 hours
  *   Suicide Intervention Training - 1 hour
  *   General Continuing Education - 10 hours

Doctor of Chiropractic (active status) - 20 hours

  *   Cultural Competency - 2 hours
  *   Suicide Intervention Training - 1 hour
  *   General Continuing Education - 17 hours

Doctor of Chiropractic (senior active status) - 6 hours

  *   Cultural Competency - 1 hour
  *   Suicide Intervention Training - 1 hour
  *   General Continuing Education - 4 hours

Chiropractic Assistant - 6 hours

  *   Cultural Competency - 1 hour
  *   General Continuing Education - 5 hours
  *   ** only for first renewal, Vitals Training - 2 hours (replaces 2 hours of General CE)

All licensees are responsible to know the administrative rule on continuing education. All updates can be found on our website under the Continuing Education<https://www.oregon.gov/obce/Pages/index.aspx> page.

As a Reminder: 2021 Cultural Competency mandate<https://www.oregon.gov/obce/Documents/2021%20Cultural%20Competency%20Requirements.pdf> CE for DCs is still in effect and due on or before December 31, 2021. Complete the cultural competency hours based on your license status by your renewal date. Any remainder hours needed to complete the mandated CE for 2021 must be submitted by the end of the year and can be counted towards your next renewal. The Board did not mandate a specific curriculum for the Cultural Competency CE. The list below is offered as a resource, not an endorsement nor limitation of vendors.
