Referencing recent research in neurobiology, M.E.T.A. focuses on understanding the different kinds of woundedness clients present, and the specific interventions for those wounds. The Training then offers an immersion course in the Hakomi Method of Body-Centered Psychotherapy. With careful attention to working relationship, the Method utilizes the client’s present somatic experience as a rapid and experiential route to unconscious material. Originated by Ron Kurtz and elaborated by subsequent Trainers, the Hakomi Method, is known for its elegant and integrated use of mindfulness, the psychology of the body, and non-violence in psychotherapy.
